Hello Reception friends and Families!
What a wonderful week we’ve had in Reception! The children have been full of excitement returning to school and we couldn't have been prouder of their hard work and how well all children have settled back in to our busy routine.
Throughout the week, we’ve been busy in Maths, practising our counting skills and learning about ordinality and cardinality — the children are becoming brilliant little mathematicians! And a big thank you to all that attended the Maths Mastery workshop this week, we appreciate all you do for children at home and hope they enjoy the activities in their new home learning packs.
In Literacy, we’ve been writing and labelling simple CVC words (like cat, dog, hat), helping the children to build confidence in hearing and writing sounds. They’ve worked so hard — we’re so proud of their growing independence.
Our Understanding the World activities have been full of creativity and curiosity! We learned all about Bonfire Night safety and have have made lots of firework themed art!
Forest School this week was a big adventure. We explored our site boundaries, learned about staying safe outdoors, and talked about how people celebrate Bonfire Night. The children loved the fresh air and freedom to explore nature.
To finish our days, we came together for singing, stories, and even some family reading time — it was so lovely to see the children sharing their love of books with you all!
