Reception - Wednesday 26th May 2021

Good Evening Everyone,

We have been having a wonderfully learning rich week so far! The children are embracing every opportunity to use their Learning Powers and have also been enjoying our PSHE themed week - today was United Against Bullying Day. Mr. Spracklen lead an assembly about it and we discussed it further in class - focussing on what the word "bullying" means and how our words and actions can upset other people. We had an inspirational visitor, Mel Lane, from the SPACE Youth Project and she read a lovely story to the children and lead a discussion about families and loving relationships, that we are all special and unique and can be who we want to be and love who we want to love. The compassion, understanding and love eminating from the class brought goose bumps to our arms........................

Incase you have not seen Mr. Spracklen's request: we are asking for donations of unwanted games, puzzles, art materials or books that we are going to utilise as playtime equipment for the whole school playtimes.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Reception Monday 10th May 2021

 Good evening to you all!

The children have had an incredible day of learning and exploring today. Our provision has all been linked to our Mini-Beast topic and more specifically, snails! The art work, design and language have been second to none! In Power Maths we are learning to count on: start on a number, roll a dice and jump that many places forward. Please work on the repeating pattern pages in the Power Maths workbook. The children are enjoying their RWInc groups and are showing excellent progress! Keep re-reading the book bag books during the week to develop fluency!

We will be continuing our Science tomorrow, and Thursday up in the garden area.

Any junk modelling containers would be gratefully received!

See you all tomorrow!

Happy Bank Holiday!!!!!!!

What an emotional week! Mrs. Smith has asked me to pass on her love and heartfelt thanks for such a generous and wonderful send off on Friday. After taking the time to read through all her cards and gifts, she was overwhelmed by the love and support from you all! It really was a special day for a special lady!

I can't wait to hear what her new job entails and I will keep you updated. It was so lovely to also hear children acknowledging the fact that she is following her dreams - what an inspiration! ........which I know would be very important to Mrs. Smith!

This week the mini-beast in. the spot light is.................the spider!!!!!!!!!!

On Wednesday, it is World Maths Day and the children are invited to celebrate it by a non-school uniform "maths themed" dress-up day. The rest of the school will be participating in Mathletics challenges.

Have a fabulous day and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
