Reception - King Arthur.....................

Our Reception children continue to astound us every day! The energy, enthusiasm and excitement has been electric over the last couple of weeks.....................

We hope you all enjoyed the class assembly last Friday - we were so proud of how confident they have all become! The film is definitely one to dig out in a few years too!

Our week so far began with an urgent request from King Arthur..................he needed more knights!!!!!!! This led to great discussions on what qualities were needed to be a knight, what were their jobs, how did you become a knight, who was King Arthur...............

We found out yesterday, via another messenger that Camelot was under attack so we had to explore all different ways that we could protect the kingdom...............making catapults and testing how far they shot, building castles with turrets, moats, portcullis and battlements, making shields and swords and seeing which ones were the longest, designing dragons that could be trained to help us...............

We think this is not the end...............continued next week!

Interwoven in our learning this week has been Book Week with the grand opening of the library on Monday and a visit from the author David Solomons. Today we were read a story by a member of the Waterstones team who also gave us all a free book! Yesterday we visited the book swap and were all able to find a new book! Ofcourse, today was World Book Day and didn't you all look tremendous, spectacular, breath taking, extraordinary! (Wow words of the week!) Jane Hurdiss, another author, also came into our assembly to read us her stories.
It was also wonderful to see so many of you able to come to our story time on Monday afternoon! Please come along next Monday between 3:00 and 3:10pm.

Please could we ask for all RWInc reading books come back for tomorrow so that we can hand out new ones, there is also some topic themed home learning this week - please choose an activity from the list!
Thank you for all the feedback from yourselves and the children in last weeks home/school communication home learning. We really welcome your comments.

Thank you also for all the objects that you have donated for our natural maths counting resources, it looks amazing and sooooooooo inviting!

See you all tomorrow from,
