What a wonderful and exciting week it has been in Reception! We have rounded off our Food, Faith and Farming Fortnight with a week full of hands-on learning, new experiences, and plenty of smiles. The children have been so enthusiastic, curious, and full of brilliant questions — we couldn’t be prouder of how engaged they’ve been!
On Monday, we had a very special visit from the new Mayor and Mayoress of Dorchester! The children were fascinated to hear about their important roles in our community and showed excellent listening and manners as they asked thoughtful questions.
Tuesday brought our first class trip — to Maiden Castle Farm! It was a wonderful day of discovery as we explored real-life farming. We saw lots of amazing machinery, learnt about how farms change with the seasons, and even met some friendly cows, pigs, and a pony!
Wednesday was National Handwashing Day, and we had great fun practising how to wash all those “green germs” away! The children loved using the special green paint to see how well they could wash their hands clean — a simple but important skill for staying healthy.
What a fantastic end to our fortnight of learning about Food, Faith and Farming — a big thank you to all our families for your continued support, and to the children for their endless enthusiasm and curiosity.
We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
