Reception w/c 17th June 2019

This week we have been learning about the Jurassic Coast and Pre-Historic Marine Reptiles. They were enoooooooooormous!!!!!!!!!

Reception: can you remember what a gastrolith is? What did they eat? Watch the film again, can you measure out one of the Marine Reptiles? What is a reptile? Was Dorchester and Weymouth land or underwater during the Jurassic period?

This inspired us to write poems about these colossal giants of the sea!

FYI: We are planning a trip, in the very near future, to Charmouth Beach to hunt for fossils just as Mary Anning did. Amber's mum has kindly offered her expertise and will accompany us. We hope to go by minibus again in order to reduce the cost to approximately £4. A letter will come out over the next week. It is looking likely that we will go during the week commencing 15th July.

FYI: Our final class assembly is on Friday 19th July. Warning in advance, please could they come in wearing a dinosaur costume or a fossil costume (home made is perfectly fine!) I will have one child as Mary Anning and will let that family know by Friday this week.

FYI: Keep your eyes peeled for Dance Day during Inclusive Sport Fortnight - each class performs a surprise dance. I would like to ask Reception to all bring in a baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses for this day (top secret.....can't tell you why!!!!!!!!)

Stomp, stomp, stomp............
