Reception - home learning and events.

James and the Giant Peach was a roaring success. The children were thoroughly engaged throughout the 50 minute performance and represented the school with outstanding behaviour and manners. Thank you to the Year 9 pupils at Leweston School, you have created a lasting special memory for our children and have further inspired their love of books. Thank you also to Leweston for hosting us, all the staff were very kind and accommodating.

The children also enjoyed a visit from Harold the giraffe in the Life Education Van on Friday. We continued our learning all about our bodies and keeping healthy. This will also be our topic until half term.

Thank you to those of you who were able to attend the SRE parents information session on Tuesday.

We did not send home learning on Friday as I need the books to show our moderator this week, but do continue to read and also we had a big focus on subtraction. This will continue this week, so feel free to practise at home! We will also be having a creative focus, encouraging painting, colour mixing, exploring texture, creating songs and dances..............if you would like to do any of this at home, please feel free and send in the results for us to share!

This week we have a visiting Silver Band performance and  a Plastic Turtle drama to look forward to in addition to all our other exciting learning.

FYI, there will be a letter coming home regarding a beach trip during the second week back after half term.

See you all tomorrow!

Mrs. J
