Rio Week so far!

Hello everyone,

As we are now over half way through our whole-school themed 'Rio' week I thought I would update you as to what has been going on and what is still yet to happen.
We have been exploring lots of different sports so far! We have had a go at some too! Basketball, volleyball, football, archery etc.  As well as this we have been finding out about the country of Brazil and how it compares with our own. A large part of the week has been spent looking at carnivals in Brazil - in preparation for Friday. On Friday we'll be parading through the school grounds - like a carnival. Parents are invited to come to this on Friday afternoon
We've been busy making various pieces of art to wear/hold on Friday as well as learning a piece of Samba music that will be carried out by the whole school. To help with the Samba piece of music we have made maracas using boxes/tubs and rice. We've also taken inspiration in the toucan and have made some out of paper plate! As well as these we will be making carnival masks and Olympic headbands.
