Lighthouses, Sports Day and Dance Day

 Hi Reception Families,

What a busy week we had! The children were fantastic at sports day, and we'd like to say a big thank you for all your support to make it such an enjoyable and inclusive event. We were very proud of the children.

This week we were learning all about Lighthouses and the important job they did 'before' and where you can find them 'now.' There was much lighthouse building, painting and crafting. The children really enjoyed the story The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch.

Dance Day was a resounding success, the photos are on another device and I will upload them during the week, but trust me me when I say they really enjoyed their time with Gaspar!

This week will be continuing our theme of Hairy Maclary in English, we are going to have one or two furry visitors on Tuesday morning, (please keep it a surprise) if your child does not like dogs please tells us BEFORE Tuesday morning. (Don't worry it's not my big dog!)

This week we will be learning all about mermaids, sea monsters and mythical creatures, all things the children love! In maths we will be exploring capacity and volume.

Please remember to give your written consent and £3 voluntary contribution towards our train trip on the 17th July. There is a consent form in Reception and we are also collecting the money.

The last two weeks will be busy and joyful!

If you would like to discuss anything please do get in touch.

Ms Evans and the Reception Team.
