Reception Thursday 2nd July 2020

Good evening,

Sports Day Afternoon went extremely well. There were running races (forwards and backwards), distance throwing, hurdles races and skills races. Spirits were high, lots of cheering and happy faces. An all round success - well done everyone and thank you to Mr. Treble and Mrs. Brown for organising the events ( I know Mrs. Brown took some pictures which will be shown at the end of term. We are very much looking forward to Dance Day tomorrow! Don't forget sunglasses and cap/hat!

I hope you all received the annual reports yesterday, please email me if you would like to discuss anything arising from the report. We also really value your feedback slips, so please do return those, thank you for the ones returned already and the kind words on them. I had to take into account the impact that 9 weeks plus has had on the children with relation to the Early Learning Goals both socially, emotionally and academically, along with the obvious impact on children's mental health and anxieties. However, please rest assured that I also have no doubt that the children will soon close these gaps as soon as they settle into Year 1.

The impact on independent writing, is one of the biggest areas we have noticed. If you wish to do anything at home over the summer, in preparation for Year 1, writing would be an area to focus on. We will be sending home some resources, in due course, to support this.

Thank you for your continued support and kind words,

Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Rogers and Mrs. J
