Reception - Summer Term 2019! Welcome back!

What a glorious Easter it has been...........we really hope you had lots of family time and relaxed!

I can't believe we are now in the summer term!!!!!!!! We have lots of wonderful learning planned and after half term we will be thinking about transition into Year 1!

This half term we will be having a focus on Knowledge and Understanding of the World, beginning with the story Handa's Surprise to inspire learning about Africa. If you don't have a copy of the story and you would like to share it at home you could use this link.

We will be encouraging curiosity about different cultures, similarities and differences, maps and continents, music, art, travel, animals, food/diet and much much more...........

Forest Schools will begin this WEDNESDAY for Eeyore, Tigger and Piglet for 2 weeks, then we will swap. Please can I ask that you check the weather forecast for the day to send them in with/in appropriate clothes for this session (named sun hats, named sun cream) also they are supposed to have their legs and arms covered for safety reasons. Thank you.

Parent story time will continue on Monday afternoons, please arrive by 3:10pm.

Dates of summer trips, assemblies, events and parent information sessions will come home shortly.

Request: If anyone would like to plant up a hanging basket to donate to our outside area that would be lovely, or indeed donate the basket and liner for the children to do. We have several hooks!

If you would like to leave a named sun hat and named suncream in school, we will look after them. Alternatively, ensure they have one appropriate for the weather on the day. Last term the children were also very interested in staying healthy and are becoming very aware of healthy food and drink choices. Please could you continue to support us with this by ensuring they all have water in their bottles and a healthy snack - treats like chocolate, biscuits, crisps at snack time will be discouraged and by all means provide it for them after school. Thank you for supporting us on this matter.

Don't forget PE kits tomorrow.

See you all tomorrow - we have missed you all and can't wait to hear all about your holiday.
