Trip Reminder!

 Hi all,

Here is a final reminder for our trip tomorrow.

If you would like to bring a car seat for your child to use on the trip, please bring it to the hall from 8:40 and we will label it for you. The chair will need to be front facing and small (no isofix) Car seats remain optional and we will be able to adjust the seat belt on the minibus.

Due to the unsettled weather, I would recommend children having robust shoes and coat tomorrow. We will not be wearing wellies!

This is also a final call for Permission slips and payments. Payments MUST be made please, using Pay360.

If you have any concerns please do contact me on j.evans@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk

Thank you

Ms Evans

Birds, beads, bikes and a LOT of water

 Hi Reception Families,

What a quick week it's been, time really does fly when you're having fun!

We started our week with our fantastic visit from Martin and his birds, we built on our learning with Martin and did a fantastic bird themed play project. We made a bird, a nest and a password!

We have been wet all week (you may have noticed!) Children are really enjoying playing in the water, we are encouraging wellies and all in one suits but spare clothes are a must please as we only have limited spares!
Look at this fabulous collaboration! (Spot our fantastic friend and inventor of Drawing Club, Greg playing too)

Meet Lala the snail!

In maths we've been focussing on repeating patterns.

Phew! Every day I am amazed at just how incredible these children are, they are growing and learning together and it's a privilege to be a part of it.

Turning our attention to next week:
We are continuing our busy busy ways winging the way towards the end of term.

Next week is tiger week! (RAARRR)

We have our trip to Shire Hall on Thursday for The Tiger Who Came to Tea, we are going to immerse ourselves in the story, we will be using it in Drawing Club, learning all about tigers in Understanding the World and remember we will be inviting you to a special tea party on Friday (but act surprised when you get your invite!)
In Power maths we continue exploring patterns.
We will be assessing children's progress in RWInc next week and will update you after Easter.

As ever please do get in touch if you would like to discuss anything.

Ms Evans and the Reception Team.

Trip details

 Hi Reception Families,

I just thought I would clarify a few things related to our trip next week,

Car Seats remain optional, we will be able to adjust the seat belts in the minibus to fit children appropriately, however if you would like us to use a carseat please bring it with you on the morning and put it into the hall, a member of staff will be on hand to label it for you. We will not be able to use extended rear facing chairs and would request that you bring a 'small' car seat not an isofix one where possible. We have a very small number of car seats that we can use, if you would like to borrow one please let me know by Tuesday. You will be able to collect your car seat from the hall at the end of the day.

Please do let me know if you would like to discuss it further.

Payments can be made via the usual way on Pay360.

Now, I'd like to share a secret with you all, Next Friday at 2:30 we will be hosting a 'Tea Party' and we would like to invite a 'grown up' to come for each child, (where possible). The children will be bringing home an invitation with them early next week,  but I wanted to give you all a heads up so you can make arrangements to come along. But please do act surprised/ excited when the invite comes home.

Many thanks

Ms Evans

Visit from Xtreme Falconry

 Hi all,

I just wanted to share some photos from our visit with Martin from Xtreme Falconry today, Martin brought with him four wonderful birds, Rosie the Barn Owl, a Kestrel, Indian Tawny Owl and a  magnificent Sea Eagle.

The children really enjoyed the visit and had lots of interesting questions and comments that they shared with Martin.

It was a perfect start to our learning about birds this week!

The children should have all brought home a pack given to them by Martin, let me know if they don't have one.

What a start for a Monday morning

Ms Evans
