Reception final blog 2018-2019

Here goes..................................

It is with very mixed emotions that I write this final blog to you all!

What an utter privilege it has been to have been given the gift of your children for a year, not only that, but the very fist year of their school life! Each and EVERY child has blossomed, grown, flourished, scaled mountains and heights of colossal proportion (metaphorically) and we have been thrilled to have been a part of it. I know, from the bottom of my heart, they will ALL go on to achieve great things and I cannot wait to watch them continue to blossom throughout the school - sad as it is to let them go!

Not only have we educated them, prepared for their learning journey throughout the school, nurtured them and helped them to build and develop skills we hope that we have also built wonderful memories for them that they will look back fondly on and cherish forever!

Reception - If I could sprinkle magic wishing dust on you, this is what I would wish for.............believe in yourself always, reach for the stars, follow your dreams, be kind, stand up for what is right, be strong, be happy, see the world and enjoy life!

Reception - Big Bang!

I think it is safe to say Reception know how to finish a year in style!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last week was an epic one!!!!!!!!!!

Our trip to Charmouth was fantastic! The final Forest Schools on Wednesday was packed full of climbing, problem solving and hammock fun! And Friday...........well what can I say? The assembly was amazing, the children did themselves proud - yet again! To finish the week off, we had a great time at the disco!

Tomorrow is our rescheduled paddling pool fun. A reminder to please bring in a towel, swimsuit or shorts and t-shirt that can get wet.

Tuesday we will be having our fish and chip lunch and magic show with Pre-School as well as leavers assemblies. The ice-cream van will be at school for the end of the day.

I will be writing our final blog tomorrow!!!!!!!!😥

Reception - costume confusion! Please read!

Charmouth was a Huuuuuuuuge success - we were real fossil hunters!!!!! What a glorious day, the children behaved impeccably! Thank you to all the volunteers who came along to help and a special thank you to Amber's mum and dad for teaching us and guiding us (as well as coming along on your birthday!!!!)

It has come to my attention that there is some confusion over Friday's assembly and costumes. I refer you back to the blog on Wednesday 19th June where there was pre-warning about a costume which I stated did not need to be a bought one.........a cut up t-shirt or pillow case with arm holes and a head hole with a mask and a tail made from a pair of tights would be sufficient! This week-end I sent a blog as a reminder!

To make things easier, we will postpone the paddling pool fun until MONDAY!

Therefore this FRIDAY they need to come in wearing their dino costume and have their change of clothes for after (Disco ones if they are going to the disco). I hope that that has clarified the situation!

See you all tomorrow,

Mrs. J

Reception - busy week - please read!

Our final full week.........................and what a busy one it is!!!!!!!!!!!

We will be practising for our assembly that is at 9:20 this Friday in the school hall.

Tuesday = trip day - pleas make sure they where a school top and old play clothes on the bottom half as well as trainers. They will need a hat and also sunglasses please to protect their eyes when fossil hunting. Please sun cream them before school and ensure they have a hat. The children will be carrying there own lunch box, snack and water bottle in their back pack. If you ordered a hot meal for that day, a packed lunch will be provided.

Wednesday = WHOLE CLASS forest schools so please, again, make sure your child is wearing appropriate clothing and foot wear.

Thursday afternoon is open afternoon - you can come in from 2:30, take your child's learning journey home and go to meet Mr. Gibson in Year 1.

Friday = Class Assembly followed by a water extravaganza!!!!!!!! Please can they WEAR THEIR DINOSAUR OUTFIT TO SCHOOL, then have either a t-shirt and shorts that can get wet or a costume and t-shirt as well as a towel and a change of clothes (If they are going to the disco straight from school, they could change into their disco clothes) If you want to stay after the assembly to change your child for the paddling pool and take the dino costume home, you are more than welcome!!!! We have three paddling pools at the moment - thank you! If they could come in on Thursday so that we can inflate them ready, that would be super!

Reception week commencing 8th July 2019

Hi Everyone!

I hope you spent all weekend humming along to "Pick up your foot and stomp it....." We were so proud of them all, their confidence was fantastic! Well done!!!!

Thank you to all of you who were able to support dance day and also the school fair on Saturday........hope you didn't get too wet!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is Inclusive Sports Afternoon. Come along from 1:30 - we will be spending approximately 30 minutes showing skills on the playground, followed by 30 minutes of races on the field, and then 30 minutes of i-sports. There will be opportunities for the children to have a shade and water break in between activities. The children will be changing in the morning for ease, so please drop off at the door in the morning. PLEASE CAN EVERY CHILD HAVE A SUN HAT AND ENSURE NAMED SUN CREAM IS GIVEN TO AN ADULT IN RECEPTION IF IT IS NOT ALREADY IN SCHOOL. Thank you!

FYI: The children were lucky enough to participate in a taster Tai Kwondo lesson which many of them really enjoyed. Several of our class already attend lessons, so if your child is interested, please ask for more information.

Don't forget, you may come along to take your child to football golf on Friday afternoon - see school letters for timings.

A HUGE REQUEST: Please can you ensure that at morning drop off and after school pick up, children treat our outside area respectfully. We may have tidied up in the morning or put resources out for learning, also the two dens are NOT for climbing on as they are not strong enough and have already been damaged! Thank you for your support in this matter.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow afternoon!
