Hanukkah

On Wednesday Mr Farrington will be leading some activities about the Jewish Festival of Light. The children will be making a Happy Hanukkah card, cooking potato latkes, playing a game with a dreidel and will be learning the story behind the festival.

Divali

The children enjoyed our India day last Friday. The children learned about the importance water by cooking rice, washing pots and pans and saris and digging irrigation ditches. In the afternoon the children made music with Indian intruments, tasted Indian snacks, made diva lamps, played with Ramayana dolls and made some chalk stencil pictures. Finally, we made a Rangoli welcome pattern outside the door which we hope you have enjoyed!

Next week, Reception will be learning about Hannukah, the Jewish Festival of Light.

Indian water morning with Mr Farrington

On Friday Reception will be learning about the importance of water: for cooking, for washing, for growing vegetables. We shall be looking at photos of Indian people using water and doing some fun, practical activities which could be rather messy! So please send your child to school with a change of clothes and if your child does not have wellies in school, please send some in!
