Dear Reception Families and Friends,
As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to say a massive thank you to all of you. It has been an absolute privilege teaching your wonderful children this year. Watching them grow, learn, and fill our classroom with laughter every day has been the ultimate reward!
Recently, a few lovely parents have reached out to ask if there is anything specific I might like as an end-of-year teacher gift. Please know that your kind words, support, and the joy of teaching your children are truly more than enough - there is absolutely no expectation or necessity to buy a gift!
However, if you are really keen to buy a little something to say thank you, I have a small request. Instead of a personal gift for me, I would be incredibly grateful if you would consider purchasing a useful resource from our Reception Class Wish list instead.
By choosing something from our wishlist, you will be directly helping us top up our learning resources and environment. It means your generosity will go right back into the classroom, benefiting the children and keeping our learning environment vibrant and exciting!
Looking to Clear Some Clutter? We Can Help!
We are also always on the lookout for materials that can fuel our creativity! If you are planning a clear-out of your children’s rooms or craft cupboards at any point, we would be incredibly grateful for donations of second-hand toys and craft bits that we could repurpose for the classroom.
We are specifically looking for things like:
Pre-loved toys: Building blocks, plastic animals, small vehicles, or simple dress-up clothes.
Craft materials: Unused paper, ribbons, buttons, yarn, fabric scraps, or even clean recycling (like safe cardboard boxes or lids).
Even if you think something might not be any good, please do ask us first! It is amazing how we can transform "odds and ends" into incredible art projects, science experiments, or imaginative play scenarios. Your "clutter" could be our next masterpiece!
Thank you all so much for your ongoing kindness, generosity, and partnership this year. We truly have the best school community!
Warmest wishes,
Miss Godden and The Reception Team
