Happy Mid-Week Day!
The children have been immersing themselves in all things Spring and Easter themed this week; nests have been made and designed, collaborative pictures, watercolour paintings, chalking and painting have all been created of various Spring themed stimulus. In Power Maths we are reviewing our learning of number and place value. Mrs. Smith ahs carried out RWInc assessments this week and children will move into new groupings after the Easter Holidays. We will send home there current assessment next Thursday so that you can support your child at home.
It has been brought to my attention that some older children have been "conjuring up" unpleasant stories involving the park over the road and "dead bodies" "strangers" etc. I had to talk to the whole class about it as I wasn't sure who had heard what and children were quite anxious and scared! I have reassured them that it is all a made up story and most definitely not true. I alerted Mr. Spracklen who is also going to pass this on to other class teachers in order to address the seriousness and the impact of such stories on young children. One more thing..............please can we ask that children do not bring in toys from home - apart from their dragon/comforter if they need one. Thank you! On Fridays, if your child rides their bike or scooter to school and has a helmet, they can ride them in the playground during afternoon choosing time.
If you have any questions, please email me directly,
Mrs. J, Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Hibberd
