Hi Everyone!
We hope this blog finds you all well!? The children continue to amaze us with their positive and happy return to school!
This week we have been taking our hot air balloons to Africa and, more specifically, The Gambia! We located The gambia on a map of the world and a map of Africa, discovering that it was a much smaller country than ours. We were very curious about what The Gambia was like, would it be the same as our country?????????????? We know what the flag of The Gambia looks like, we know what the people in The Gambia look like and where they live, we loved looking at what the markets are like as well as learning what animals have their habitat in The Gambia. There is a river with a lot of jungle and mangrove swamps too!
Here are 2 pictures of children making anacondas!
"There's a lion coming, this is an enclosure for it!"
"I am an Ice Queen!"
We did movement, drama and dance based around a visit to The Gambia.
This topic has really captured their imaginations, and along with the Gambian artefacts we have, they have loved role playing visiting The Gambia on holiday!
Please could all RWInc book bag books be returned tomorrow so that we can send home the next one.
Tomorrow is home clothes day in order to raise money towards Comic Relief.
We voted on ideas for a treat following the successful team effort of filling our dragon gem jar; there were a multitude of suggestions. The children then voted on their favourite one.................12 votes for using the soft play in Pre-School! Therefore, next week, we will be visitning in small groups for a play! Well done everyone, the jar will be emptied tomorrow ready to start again!
We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
Mrs. J, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Hibberd and Mrs. Burgess
