Carol Service Tomorrow

 Hi Reception Families,

Just a quick reminder about the Carol Service tomorrow.

Children will bring home a costume with them tomorrow, we have mixed some of the costumes up to give children different experiences.

Please bring children to St Mary's Church at 4:45 dressed in their costume (we can help if needed) please bring the children to the far corner and staff will be there to meet them.

The carol service is a truly wonderful Inspiredtolearn event and we would love to see as many families as possible attend.

Children will be watching the pantomime in school tomorrow afternoon, and every child need a 'wrapped' packed lunch on Friday!

We're having a wonderful end of term!

Bears, Teddy Bears and Tap Tap Boards

 Hi Reception Families,

Well, we had another busy week!

This week we have been learning about bears from around the world, can the children tell you how fast a black bear can run? Or how many hours of the day a panda eats?

We also learnt how Teddy Bears have changed over time and had some very special visitors!

In maths we focussed on the different ways you can make numbers to five.

We had a wonderful time using the Tap Tap Boards and Magnets this week (they would make a fabulous Christmas present!)

We loved Going on a Bear Hunt in Drawing Club this week!

We thrilled by the snowy weather this week too! Although lots of children thought that meant it was Christmas which was very sweet! Albeit disappointing that in fact it was just a Thursday!

Don't Forget it's our Christmas Story 'Round the Back' this Friday at 3.10 in the hall, I know the children are really looking forward to sharing it with you!

Turning our attention to next week:

Drawing Club: Stickman

Maths: Introducing counting to 10

Understanding the World: Seasons and The Christmas Story.

If you we can do anything to help, please do get in touch.

Carol Service and Christmas Story

Hi Reception Families,

I just wanted to give you some more details about two very important events coming up for Reception.

On Friday 8th December at 3:00 we would like to warmly invite you to join us to listen to Reception's very special Christmas story 'Round the Back' the children have been working very  hard and I know they will love sharing their story with you.

On 13th December we have The Prince of Wales Carol Service, Reception and Preschool play huge part in this service, acting out the main parts in the story. On the 13th December your child will come home with a costume, please bring them to St Mary's Church at 4:45 dressed in their costume.

The Carol Service is a truly #inspiredtolearn experience with contributions from our Pop-up Christmas Choir, and our buddies in Year 4. We would love for all of Reception to attend and take up their staring role!

On Friday we have our Christmas Craft day, this is a whole school event and children work 'cross age group.' They will bring home some lovely crafty bits on Friday!

If you would like further details please do grab me on the door!

London, Goldilocks and Magnets

 Hi Reception Families,

We had another great week, the children are really beginning to settle into school life now!

This week in Understanding The World we were learning all about London. We had a fantastic play project where we displayed all our learning about London.

In Maths this week we've been exploring groups of amounts within five (composition)

In Understanding the Natural World we have continued our exploration of magnets, we discovered which day to day objects were magnetic.

We've also been being busy playing.

We are beginning our march towards the festive season and there are a few dates to be aware of, on the 8th December at 3:00 we will be performing our Christmas Story 'Round the back' we really hope you can come and see how hard the children have been working!

On 13th December we have our annual Carol Service, Reception and Preschool children have the leading role! The service is at St Mary's Church at 5:00. All Reception children in attendance will be given a costume and a role in the Nativity story. It is a highlight of the year in Reception.

Turning our attention to next week:

Drawing Club: We're Going on a Bear Hunt.

Understanding the World: History of Teddy Bears and Bears from around the world.

Maths: Composition.

Friday is Christmas Craft Day.

Please do keep an eye on the blog over the coming weeks as I will update it with all the importants events and dates.
