2D&3D Shapes, Bean bags and The Gingerbread Man

 Hi Reception Families,

We had a lovely peaceful start to the term. This week in Maths we were learning about 2D and 3D  shapes, we explored which 3D shapes stack and which ones roll. It was also helpful to remember the names and attributes of 2D shapes, I wonder if the children can tell you how many sides and corners a square has?

In Drawing Club we were focussing on The Gingerbread Man (run  run as fast as you can!) On Tuesday in Understanding the World we learnt about bridges and what makes them so strong. We made a bridge for The Gingerbread Man to safely cross the river.

In Understanding the Natural World, we began to explore different types of sounds and what makes them. Next week we will be going on a sound hunt!

In PE we were practicing our throwing and catching skills using a bean bag with a partner. Ask the children where I threw a bean bag by mistake!
