Hi Reception Families,
We had a wonderful week!
Our focus in English was The Sharing Shell, we wrote fantastic sentences about the story. On Friday we even had a go at writing our own Sharing Shell story.
In Maths we were learning about Volume and Capacity.
We've also been practicing our counting and sorting skills.
In Understanding the World we have continued our focus of the Seaside, this week the children have really enjoyed a variety of ice cream themed activities.
In Scarf we learnt about the Human Life Cycle we worked in our bird groups and created a fantastic poster showing the Human Life Cycle.
We also made puppets shows based on our story The Sharing Shell and practiced our cutting skills!
In Drawing Club we focused on The Poddington Peas, it's safe to say the children absolutely LOVE The Poddington Peas!
Children had a positive visit to Year One on Thursday afternoon, there will be another two transition afternoons.
Turning our attention to next week:
Drawing Club: Chicken Licken
English: The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch
Understanding the World: Coasts and beaches, finding a beach using an Atlas. The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch.
Maths: Cardinality Counting.
SCARF: Where do babies come from?
PE: Wednesday Morning please come into school wearing your PE kit.
Please ensure that children bring a drinks bottle, hat and wear suncream as the hot weather continues.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!
As part of our learning about the Lighthouse Keepers Lunch we would like to invite you to attend our Lighthouse Keepers Picnic at 3:00 on Friday. Children will be making a special sandwich to share with you at the picnic!
As ever, please do get in touch if we can help with anything.
