Hi Reception Families,
It has been a busy week!
This week we have been learning about The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. We focussed on making seagulls and lighthouses in a variety of ways, practicing our fine motor skills.
The children also created beautiful silhouette pictures using pastels. Children learnt to 'smudge and blend' the colours together.
We used The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch as our stimulus in English, today we wrote instructions on how to make a sandwich.
In Understanding the World we used atlases to find the coast, and study which countries are islands and which don't have a coast.
We've also played and played!
Turning our attention to next week:
Reminder school is closed on Wednesday and Friday to most pupils due to strike action.
Drawing Club: The Night Pirates (two week focus)
Understanding the World: Pirates (two week focus)
Maths: Composition and groups.
Prostrike is on Monday.
Our final transition session visit into Year one will be on Thursday, children will need to be picked up from the Key Stage One entrance not from Reception.
Thank you to all those who were able to come to our 'Sandwich session' this afternoon, we love having grown ups to visit!
Please can you check to see if your child brought home an Optimus Prime toy recently, we would like to return it to its owner.
As the grass get longer, we would recommend checking children for ticks, we will check the children when they come back in after lunch.
As ever do get in touch if there is anything you would like to discuss.
Ms Evans and the Reception Team.
