Hi Reception Families,
I just wanted to tell you about our wonderful day. This week in Drawing Club we have been focussing on the Tortoise and the Hare.
Well today, we had a very special visitor named Minnie.
We spent our day with Minnie, we observed her outside, conducted some research in the library using non-fiction or 'Fact' books and read about Lonesome George. (Ask the children what they can remember.)
This afternoon we used all our new found knowledge about Tortoises in our Play Project. Children chose to make a tortoise, a shell, or some food. They used Junk Modelling, paint, drawing and building resources.
It was a truly inspired to learn day in Reception!
A big Thank you to Mrs Thorpe for bringing Minnie to spend the day with us!
