Hello everyone,
This week we have been learning about Chinese New Year. We have learnt the story of The Great Race' where the Jade Emperor organised a race to decide the order of the years! Ask your child to see if they can remember the animals that were in the race; there are 13 in total!
We have also been learning about some of the traditions that take place around Chinese New Year. One of these has been Chinese lanterns. We have had a go at making our own Chinese lanterns and this afternoon we released our own full scale lantern! Needless to say it created much excitement and we were all very happy to watch it fly off into the distance! We left our email address on it so if anyone finds it, they can send us a message, and we can see how far it went! It is the little black dot in these pictures... I was a bit late with the camera!
