Hello everyone,
We are working our way through the last few sounds before Christmas. We may still have some left to do after we return due to the busy timetable. This week's sounds are listed below:
- 'ar' as in hard - Tilt head back as if you are at the dentist and say 'aaahhhhhh'.
- 'or' as in fork - Same as 'ee' sound - place hands above your head, like ears, and say 'eeyore, eeyore'.
- 'oo' as in book - this is the first instance where one written sound can look the same as another. this 'oo' is referred to as the short vowel sound. The action is the same as for the long vowel sound (as in 'moon') - extending your neck, pretending to be a cuckoo from a cuckoo clock.
Finally, thank you for the brilliant caliber of work that is coming in from home! It is fantastic to see it all and observe how proud children are of their accomplishments.
