Reception - we love our school!

Congratulations to our Spring 2 award winners!

We had a 2 day old visitor today, Arthur took him to meet each class.

Preparing our beds for flowers.

We are growing potatoes too!

Incredible fine motor skills and super counting Sam.

"This is a present for my mummy"

"We will put the names of the children who are living in our house."

"This is the baby easter egg, this is the medium easter egg and this is the large easter egg."

Some very aromatic and spicy dishes being conjured up.

"This is a jewellery box for mummy."

"We are working as a team, Arthur is cutting out and I am going to colour in."

We are very much looking forward to our Royal Banquet tomorrow - photos to follow!

The children have all been incredible these last 2 weeks, coping with all the changes of adults due to sickness! We couldn't be more proud of you all! I would also like to say a huge "Thank you" to the outstanding staff members who have supported their colleagues and the children with their learning over the last 2 weeks too! We are so lucky to have such an awesome, professional, experienced and nurturing team of staff at PoW!

Have a fantastic Easter break!

From ALL the adults who have loved working in Reception over the last 2 weeks!

Our pictures tell 1000 words...........

It's clear to see from our photos this week that Reception LOVE learning!!!!!!!

Look just how busy we are.............

Outdoor learning is VERY important to us!

Collaborative learning about the Rainforest.

Physical development........

Repeating patterns.

A reminder that NEXT FRIDAY, 8th April, is our class assembly. Please come and watch us in the school hall at 9:15am. We will be holding our Royal Banquet/Ball on this day too as we had to cancel it previously, so all children can come to school wearing their king/queen/knight/princess costume.

For home learning this week, can you make a cake or fairy cakes for our banquet with a Royal theme?

"I'm walking on sunshine, woo hoo, and don't it feel good!"

We love nothing more than to take our learning outside, and on such a glorious day too!

Let's get creative.........

Special requests: we would really love any donations of junk modelling, ribbon, buttons, writing paper and envelopes, shells, keys, nuts/bolts and screws...............all greatly received and appreciated!

Many thanks,

Reception - Tuesday 1st March 2022 - please read and share!

Welcome back to you all!

We have been overwhelmed by all the homelearning that has taken place over the half term break and it will take us a few days to share them all! Super stuff!

A reminder that Thursday is World Book Day and children may come to school dressed as their favourite book character and bring the book along to share too! It is also PACKED LUNCH WRAPPED AS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT - NO HOT DINNERS!

Friday we will be visiting the planetarium in the school hall so NO HOT DINNERS! Packed lunch required.

Check the school calendar for our new class assembly date.

I have been made aware that there have been a lot of messages on your group chat about the arrangements for next Tuesday's exciting visit to experience the Mars art installation! I was waiting until we returned to clarify final details.

Please rest assured that any school trip we plan is thoroughly risk assessed and we are all highly experienced in leading educational and residential trips. A consent form does NOT need to be filled out because this trip is covered under the Local Visits Permission slip you signed at the beginning of the year.

ALL RECEPTION CHILDREN TO BE DROPPED AT THE CORN EXCHANGE BETWEEN 8:45 AND 9:00 AM ON TUESDAY MORNING. We will then be meeting Pre-School there for our session. A coach has been arranged to transport us back to school. We will be back in school for normal lunchtime.

I am sure you will agree that this is a fantastic opportunity for the children and a one off experience! School uniform should be worn. You can choose to send your child to the event with their bags or feel free to drop them off at school for their return.

Updates and photos will follow in the next few days!
