Hello Reception families!
I hope you all had a lovely half term. The children have shared lots about the brilliant activities they did over the holidays!
I just wanted to start by saying how proud I am of all of Reception this week. They have all started this half term with an enthusiastic attitude to learning and have settled amazingly in to our new routine.
This week begun with a celebration for bonfire / firework night. We started in the morning with hotdogs for snack and then toasted our own marshmallows to make s'moors!
This half term Reception are going to be investigating different types of Terrific Transport! To kickstart this, we have made our very own bus stop in the reception classroom!
This week we have been identifying all the different types of transport and have been looking at how they have changed over time!
And lastly, I just wanted to share some of our other WOW moments from this week!
- This week is Therapeutic Thinking Week where we will be dedicating time in class to reflect on how to spread kindness and raise awareness of choosing respect to all.
- Starting Monday, there will be a Pudsey Shop outside the front of POW Reception for children to purchase merchandise to support Children in Need.
- Tuesday is Odd Sock day to bring awareness to Anti-Bullying.
- On Wednesday there will be a Pudsey Bake Sale outside the front of the school where baked goods will be sold.
- On Thursday, Reception will be walking down to Dorchester Library (please ensure all children are wearing trousers, coats and comfortable walking shoes).
- On Friday it is non-school uniform day to raise money for Children in Need (we would love children to wear spots if possible).
- Flu Vaccines are also on Friday for those who have opted to have the vaccination in school.
Phew. What a busy week to come! Thank you so much for your ongoing support and again, feel free to email me with any questions or concerns!
*I also just wanted to add, Reception class have been collecting whole class tokens which we have now reached our target with and therefore will be receiving a class reward. After lots of voting, we have settled on a Pajama Party / Movie afternoon. I am planning this for the following week where there is less going on around school to prevent any confusion! I will email you all with the details nearer the time*
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Godden, Mrs Rogers, Mrs Smith and Mr Long.
